Greenpoint County Line / Re: Ron and Dad Enter town

Stage parents been watching Ron for the past two seasons and his cuteness
Wore thin toward the end of season. One

Season two the ratings were high and it was a cash cow but the director
Had enough of Ronnie not being on time for breaks and constantly doing
Little things go scare the set parents.    Under contract they couldn't do much
To the kid but ae season two ended the directors Andy and Don said to Rance you will..need to be full.time set parents or we will need to send Opie to his Aunt and Uncle in Greensboro and won't be paid the 100 percent because he won't be on set more then a phone call a episode saying his Aunt and Uncle are really sick
And they need my help.

After a quick nod Rance found a place in Culver and planned to move hi..at the
End of episode one but no one would of thought Ron would of locked the dressing room.of Don and wasted entire day of taping until Andy almost took young Ron to the wood shed and Ron gave the key back and they were able to let a furious Don out

At that point Rance came out of a closed meeting and Yanked Ron as they headed home as the car pulled up the drive way

Dad!  Why does everyone get upset when I make funny. I had everyone rolling on the floor you should of heard that dumb Don knocking and pounding on that door

If it wasn't for Andy sticking his nose in I bet Don still be there now
Pounding on that door lol.lol.lol.   Sometimes I can't help it I'm a natural

Ron walks out the car and shuts the door

"Charm! Charm!  there's nothing charming about it. Its just plan deliberate disobedience and its going to stop now."

If he had any doubt, this back talk ended it. Ronny was going to be thoroughly and soundly spanked.

"When we get home, your attitude is going to change for good.

Ron didn't have a care in the world and knew nothing of consequences

Rance was deep in thought.  Ronny's behavior today was as bad as he had ever been.
There was no doubt that something dramatic had to be done. Scoldings, finger wagging, time outs, line writing, loss of privileges. All these produced brief periods of good behavior, but nothing that lasted.

So all the way home he was thinking about what Ronny's grandparents did when the rules had been broken too many times. Enough was enough, it was time to take Ronny in hand and put an end to this bad behavior.

"Yes son, we're almost home. I've been thinking about that stunt you pulled today. I've warned you many times about disobedience and disrespect.  What were you thinking?

We have finally made our way into the city limits of Culver and I look around and see the other kids
and wonder if i will get a chance to play with the other kids.. MY Dad Rance has gotten worn out being
on the set with the last few years and finally decided he needed to get a place of his own that was close
to the studio but a home was a place where a Father could deal with his Spoiled Little Brat  "opie" Ronny Taylor

he was getting to be a huge star on the set but that didn't mean Andy and Don didn't think that Ron needed a little
paternal love now and then..  Dad was well aware  but didn't want to raise children THIS way..   WELL  Ron was getting
older and his pranks were getting worse and finally the director pulled Rance aside and said  "When he comes back on the
set on Monday he best have an attitude adjustment and be a different boy

Ron sat in the front seat looking around at the neighborhood ,, Are we almost home Dad?

FAQ / Little Rascals WHO ARE WE and what are we about
« Last post by Spanky 8 on December 12, 2018, 06:09:18 am »
Our Gang was the name of a popular and successful American film series of comedy shorts centered around a group of child actors known collectively as "The Little Rascals". Between 1922 and 1944, there were over two hundred and twenty shorts, more than any other film series for a comedy team, using a revolving stable of over two hundred child actors. Several of the kids lasted for as long as fifteen to twenty short films while others only appeared in five or less. Of these, only about thirty to thirty-five stood out with as many as twenty films to their credit. The series had started out in the Pathe silent film series and later graduated to "talkies," many of which became famous on television throughout the Fifties and Sixties as "The Little Rascals" TV Series. Our Gang was created by Hal Roach, one of Hollywood's top producers, responsible for launching the careers of Laurel and Hardy, James Finlayson, Harold Lloyd, Fatty Arbuckle, Charley Chase, Thelma Todd and Theda Bara, several of whom even appeared in Our Gang shorts. After leaving Our Gang, several of the Little Rascals went on to work with Groucho Marx, Abbott and Costello, Buster Keaton, Bob Hope and John Wayne. Today, the Our Gang legacy of equality, perseverance and determination is still felt today in modern movies such as The Goonies and The Sandlot.

    Alfalfa Age 13

Bio: Well-recognized by that trademark cowlick and freckles, Alfalfa Switzer is full on pride, self-assurance and self-esteem with quite a little eye for the ladies; the only thing that can knock him back to reality is Butch, who often makes him the victim of many cruel pranks and threats. Some of these embarrassments though are the results of efforts from his friends trying to do what's right for him or just trying to knock his ego down to level. Possibly the most dimensional character in the series, he is the best friend of Spanky, a leader and role model for Porky and Buckwheat and the number one pursuer of love from Darla. It is for all these reasons that he possibly stands out as the most famous "Little Rascal" of them all, second only to Spanky himself.

Buckwheat Thomas  (age 5)

Bio: There can only be one Buckwheat, but there have been a few Buckwheats. Stymie's sister, Marmalade, was nicknamed Buckwheat in The First Round-Up and Honky Donkey, and it is possibly because of this that poor Billie was thought to be the daughter of the housekeeper at Spanky's house.
Buckwheat's mom works as a housekeeper for Spanky's parents in Anniversary Trouble (Spanky even impersonates him once after their club dues go missing), but he becomes close friends with Spanky's little brother, Porky. Buckwheat seems to be well liked and popular among the neighborhood kids. In fact, when Buckwheat goes to light the stage lights in one of Spanky's shows in Our Gang Follies Of 1936, everyone in the audience says hi to him.
Truthfully, Buckwheat and Porky are often forced to be little more than sidekicks and messengers for the bigger kids, even playing caddy to them at the golf course in Divot Diggers. When they're not delivering messages or saving the day, they are playing marbles or lighting firecrackers, once getting the fun activity confiscated by Spanky and Alfalfa disguised as a G-Man in Two Too Young.
Buckwheat often follows Porky's lead as they follow the bigger boys, though he never knows what is going to happen. When they break into the school after dark to retrieve a phony excuse note, he gets scared as he is left alone as lookout even as Porky delights in scaring the others in Spooky Hooky. Buckwheat is scared of the dark and believes in ghosts. (Spooky Hooky) He gets terrified after playing detective with Alfalfa and Porky and getting deposited from a crate in the haunted house attraction at Seaside Amusement Park in Hide And Shriek. In Don't Lie it is revealed that Buckwheat has been known to be somewhat of a liar. When he reports seeing something weird at a local haunted house, everyone thinks it's another lie, but in the end, when things are explained in the daylight, everything turns out all right.

Darla

Age 10

One of the most instantaneously recognized Rascals, cute and adorable Darla Hood is first introduced in Our Gang Follies Of 1936, a singing revue which Spanky throws for the other kids to earn spending money. Darla apparently loves to sing. She sings the song, "I'll Never Say Never Again." In her first appearances, she has blonde hair, harkening back to Mary Kornman and Jean Darling; but she later reverts back to the familiar brunette locks for which she is best known.
Darla's character is the daughter of James B. Hood, the local dentist, who is also revealed to be the owner of a circus (Bear Facts, in which his last name is said to be 'King') and seems well-to-do, but not as wealthy as the family of Waldo. He refers to his wife as "Mother," and later remarries after Darla's mother has passed on (Wedding Worries), and he is often very exasperated by Darla's friends, especially when they stay the night (Night 'N' Gales). Interestingly enough, in Night 'N' Gales, her father's name is Arthur Hood, while in Feed 'Em And Weep, his name is John Hood. Darla also has a little brother Junior seen in that short.
Darla is a gifted little singer, appearing in several of Spanky's shows and once nearly on the radio if not for Alfalfa Switzer. Alfalfa considers Darla his girlfriend, and she very much enjoys the attention, but when the gang is taking his attention and he neglects her, she is not hesitant to use Waldo or even Butch to make Alfalfa jealous.

I know I am a little late adding my two cents. But. I will anyway.

I believe in the 50s, paddle were only made only from wood. The shapes have not changed much. Just materials used to make them, decorations and sayings

I am of the belief a sound hand spanking work fine for up to age 7, The paddle/hairbrush and such start to be introduced between 8 and 10.After age 12, something harsher such as a strap, or switch, might be need to get the results you want.

I grew up in Ireland in the 70's and we got spanked with a wooden spoon or a table tennis bat from the age of 5 till we reached 11. at 11 we got spanked with a standard paddle or a Daddy's helper paddle. just so you know. Like I said this was in Ireland. Now we in America. We don't get it.

That may be true.  I wasn't around in the 50's lol.  As for me, I don't really care for belt spankings very often for my iks.  I think a switch spanking story can be fun sometimes but not on a constant basis and for many severe things.  I prefer hand or paddle or hairbrush.

All I can say is that growing up in the 1960's in a very conservative rural area, all the kids I knew were getting spanked with straps, belts, switches, hand & the paddle wasn't really that prevalent in my area. Though it could have been used. 10 years before that..???..I don't know. The kids I grew up with were getting spanked with the aforementioned  items from a very young age...its just what was done. No one complained or interfered. It's just the way things were.
Until 1971 the schools used a strap.
